The story behind the photo

A favorite face
for a familiar place.

Archie sits nearby while Emma works, looking up with those round golden eyes. She wants a painting of that familiar expression for the wall beside her desk.

The artist’s focus

Small brushstrokes.
A familiar expression.

The photograph, outline and color stages show how the broad grey face becomes recognizable. Keeping the eyes clear matters more than adding extra decoration.
